PLSP Presents: Pregnancy Loss through the Lens of Narrative Medicine

Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 8:00 pm to 9:15 pm

Join the Pregnancy Loss Support Program and Dr. Joyeeta Dastidar on Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day as we borrow the techniques of narrative medicine to foster a sense of community among those with the shared experience of pregnancy loss. Participants will take a close look at a work of art or literature as it relates to pregnancy loss, participate in small group reflection and a writing exercise.  The session will conclude with an opportunity to share, and time for questions.

Dr. Joyeeta Dastidar is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and an Associate Clinical Ethicist at New York Presbyterian-Columbia.  She is also a writer, and her publications include the article On Death and Dying at the Beginning of Life: Grieving the Stillborn Baby, published in the American Journal of Bioethics the same year as her own stillbirth.

This event has reached capacity. Please fill out the form if you are interested and you will be added to the waiting list.
