On May 31st, Jews for Repro NY will be meeting virtually with our elected officials throughout the day to discuss and press them to pass important reproductive rights legislation. Join us for any meetings that are convenient for you that day.
Even if you have never lobbied a legislator previously, we want you to join us! We will provide a virtual training beforehand so everyone will be prepared to lobby, as well as summaries and talking points about our legislative priorities. If you are not comfortable speaking, we welcome you too! There is strength in numbers and just showing up for support makes a difference.
We will be discussing the need for additional funding for abortion providers, for facility, staff and security upgrades; increasing funding to abortion funds; the New York Shield law which would protect medical professionals in New York who prescribe abortion medication to patients in other states; and the need for comprehensive sex education in New York State, among other issues.
