One Woman’s Story: Loss, Healing and the Creative Process
Join the Pregnancy Loss Support Program and Alexis Marie as she shares her story and recent book, Expecting Sunshine: A Journey of Grief, Healing and Pregnancy After Loss.

Art was dangerous. Creativity set wild in me painful secrets best suffocated beneath the surface. If I surrendered myself unguarded to its process, I might have acknowledged the sharp regret that I did not die in Zachary’s place.

Alexis Marie Chute is an award-winning author, artist, and filmmaker. She has her Bachelor of Fine Art in art and design from the University of Alberta and her Masters of Fine Art in creative writing from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. Alexis Marie has been named an “Emerging Canadian Photographer” by Photo Life Magazine, and a “Top 40 Under 40” by Avenue Magazine. Her debut memoir, Expecting Sunshine: A Journey of Grief, Healing and Pregnancy After Loss, will be released April 2017 by She Writes Press, accompanied by the feature film on the same topic. Her writing has been widely published and her artwork is represented by the AR&S Gallery at the Art Gallery of Alberta. www.alexismariechute.com
