Andrea is the leader of the staff team at NCJW NY and as such is responsible for all aspects of organizational management including programming, fundraising, and administration. Andrea comes to NCJW NY with more than 20 years of experience in non-profit management in New York City. She began her career at the national office of Planned Parenthood, working in communications and media relations. She has since served as Director of Program Services for Citymeals-on-Wheels, serving homebound elderly New Yorkers; V.P. of Community Programs at the non-profit Big Apple Circus, bringing the joy and laughter of the Circus to disadvantaged populations nationwide; and as Executive Director of Room to Grow, providing comprehensive services to families raising babies in poverty. Andrea holds a B.A. from Barnard College and a Master of Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School.

Naomi Richter

Director of Community Programs
Naomi Skop Richter, 646.884.9461

Naomi Skop Richter is NCJW NY’s Director of Community Programs. Her work actualizes our mission of improving the quality of life for women, children and families in her work with the Pregnancy Loss Support Program, Children’s Literacy, Artreach, the Jewish Women’s Resource Center, HIPPY, Knitwits, the Back 2 School Store and Council Lifetime Learning. Naomi previously worked as the Program Manager at the Jewish Teen Funders Network, where she supported the field of Jewish teen philanthropy. She began her professional career as a clinical social worker with a variety of populations, and has been a dedicated volunteer lay leader for Limmud NY, a volunteer-led organization. Naomi holds a B.A. from Brandeis University, a Master of Social Work from Hunter College School of Social Work, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).


Director of Finance & Operations
Rita Shapiro, 646.884.9463

Rita oversees all aspects of finance, human resources, facilities, and day-to-day operations of NCJW NY. She joined the organization in 1996 and has made herself indispensable ever since. Rita has a B.S. in Accounting and Economics from Belarus University. She has competently shepherded the organization through complex legal matters, insurance issues, and real estate transactions, while still staying on top of day-to-day issues such as payroll, benefits administration, accounts receivable and accounts payable.


Social Worker

Letitia Maun, 646.884.9471

Letitia is the social worker at NCJW NY. She facilitates three support groups, including two bereavement groups for women and men who have lost their spouse/partner and one for caregivers of a spouse/partner with memory impairments or Alzheimer’s. She plans the Council Lifetime Learning’s Healthy Living Series, enlisting guest speakers to address issues on health and well-being, and oversees LINC (Lunch, Interaction, Nurturing and Companionship), a bi-weekly program for people with memory impairment. Letitia also works as a therapist at Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services. She began her social work career as a medical social worker at New York Presbyterian Weil Cornell Medical Center where she worked for 11 years. Letitia holds a B.A from the University of California at Berkeley , a Master in Education from Teachers College, and a Master of Social Work from Columbia University.

Director of Outreach & Engagement
Yael Reisman, 646.884.9462

Yael serves as Director of Outreach and Engagement at NCJW New York Section. In this position she has strengthened and expanded the section’s advocacy work, particularly in the field of combating sex trafficking. As co-chairwoman of  We Were Slaves: The Jewish Community Unites Against Sex Trafficking, Yael oversees the coalition that brings education and advocacy to both youth and adults in an effort to end trafficking. She previously worked in development for the Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust and the National Council on Women’s Research, now known as Re:Gender, as an organizational consultant. Yael holds a B.A. from Yeshiva University and a Master of Public Administration from NYU’s Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service.

Director of Development
Beth Lauren, 646.884.9466

Beth Lauren is the Director of Development  for NCJW NY. She is responsible for the overall fundraising strategy, which includes event management, stewardship of members and donors and writing grant proposals. Beth is a native New Yorker, who has worked as both a consultant and in-house in development for non-profits such as Planned Parenthood of New York City, the NAACP and CARE Inc.  She recently returned from a year braving the cold and snow in western NY State where she established the Development Department for the forthcoming National Comedy Center. Working in the film industry, she has been a screenwriter, producer and director on a number of independent films which have premiered at film festivals in NYC and Dublin, Ireland.

Development & Communications Associate
Lane Silberstein, 646.884.9465

Lane Silberstein maintains the donor database, website, and social media presence of NCJW NY in addition to sending email and print communications and writing grants. He has been involved in progressive Jewish and interfaith issues since his bar mitzvah 14 years ago. Prior to becoming the Development and Communications Associate at NCJW NY, he worked at the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene where, in addition to office work, he would occasionally appear on stage. Born and raised in Florida by transplants from New York, he returned here to study Yiddish Literature at the graduate level at Columbia and the Jewish Theological Seminary, and then did stints as a paralegal and at the Jewish Daily Forward. In his spare time, Lane enjoys reading bad science fiction alongside classic Jewish literature, as well as dog watching.

Tamar Yanay is an AVODAH Service Corps Member, who has joined NCJW NY for a year. She is a Seattle transplant, originally from Israel and recently graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Sociology and French. During college, Tamar volunteered at her school’s urban farm and learned about sustainable agriculture. She also volunteers at Kids4Peace, an inter-faith organization focused on dialogue and conflict resolution. This summer, Tamar worked for Mitzvah Corps Pacific Northwest, a summer program focused on social justice and environmental work.

Hannibal manages the NCJW NY printing and mailroom operation, as well as all audio/visual equipment and other facilities maintenance duties. Hannibal joined NCJW NY in 2002.

Hector wears many hats at NCJW NY, where he provides security oversight, facilities maintenance, and also cooks for the Community Kitchen. He has been with NCJW NY since 2010. Before coming to NCJW NY, Hector worked at Madison Square Garden as a food prep.
